PRS for Music is a not-for-profit organisation that collects and distributes royalties to its membership of 75,000 songwriters, composers and publishers.
Members are paid royalties whenever their music is used in a number of ways – when it is recorded onto any format and distributed to the public, performed or played in public, broadcast or made publicly available online.
It is one of the largest collection societies in Europe and has been in operation since 1914.
